One Piece: Pirate Warriors Series Smashes 10 Million Sales Milestone
The One Piece: Pirate Warriors franchise has officially crossed a major historic threshold. Publisher Bandai Namco and developer Omega Force (a division of Koei Tecmo) announced today that the action series has surpassed 10 million units sold worldwide.
This milestone cements the Pirate Warriors spinoffs as some of the most successful adaptations of Eiichiro Oda’s legendary manga. Combining the chaotic, “1 vs. 1,000” musou gameplay of Dynasty Warriors with the vibrant world of the Straw Hat Pirates, the series has maintained steady popularity for over a decade.
A Legacy of Musou Action The journey to 10 million began in 2012 on the PlayStation 3. Since then, the series has evolved across multiple generations of consoles, culminating in the most recent entry, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4, which launched in 2020 and continues to be supported on modern platforms like PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.
The sales figure accounts for the cumulative performance of the following four main titles:
- One Piece: Pirate Warriors (2012): The PS3 original that started it all.
- One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 (2013): Expanded the roster and released on PS3 and PS Vita.
- One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 (2015): Brought the series to PS4 and PC, covering the story up to the Dressrosa Arc.
- One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 (2020): The latest entry, featuring destructible environments and the Wano Country Arc.
Celebration To commemorate the achievement, Bandai Namco released a special trailer highlighting the series’ explosive action and beloved character roster. With the One Piece manga entering its final saga and the anime’s global popularity at an all-time high, the appetite for digital adventures with Luffy and his crew shows no signs of slowing down.
