Beyblade X: Evobattle Switch 2 Edition Out This Week, Includes Paid Upgrade Path For Switch Players
News | Nintendo Switch 2 | Upcoming Releases
If you’ve been holding off on picking up FuRyu’s latest spinning-top battler, Beyblade X: Evobattle, your patience is about to be rewarded. Following its initial launch on the original Nintendo Switch last month, the enhanced Switch 2 Edition is officially landing on store shelves and the eShop this Thursday, 18th December.
For those who couldn’t wait and already snagged the standard Switch version in November, don’t worry—you won’t be left in the dust. Publisher FuRyu has confirmed a paid upgrade path is available, allowing early adopters to jump to the next-gen version without buying the full game twice.
The Upgrade Path
According to the eShop listing, players who own the digital or physical copy of Beyblade X: Evobattle on the original Switch can purchase the “Switch 2 Upgrade Pack” for $10.00 / £8.99.
This aligns with the pricing strategy we’ve seen for other recent cross-gen titles, offering a middle ground between a full rebuy and a free patch. The upgrade unlocks the native Switch 2 app, which boasts significant performance boosts over its predecessor.
Switch 2 Edition Enhancements:
- Visual Fidelity: Native 4K resolution in TV mode and crisp 1440p in handheld.
- Performance: A locked 60fps during even the most chaotic “Xtreme Dashes” (a notable step up from the variable frame rate on the original hardware).
- Load Times: Near-instant loading for battles and customization menus.
- Haptic Feedback: Enhanced rumble support for the new Joy-Con controllers, letting you feel every clash and burst finish.
A New Spin on the Sequel
For those who missed our review of the base game last month, Beyblade X: Evobattle is the direct sequel to 2024’s Beyblade X: XONE. It introduces a suite of “Evo” mechanics that add deeper tactical layers to the arena:
- EvoBattle: A new “ultra-high-speed” combat system where command inputs must be timed perfectly with your Bey’s rotation speed.
- EvoStory: An original narrative featuring the new protagonist, Tenka Shirahoshi (voiced by Yuko Natsuyoshi), who joins the main cast from the anime.
- CX (Custom Line): Deep customization options allowing you to coat parts in custom colours and materials, affecting both aesthetics and weight distribution.
The game also carries over save data bonuses from Beyblade X: XONE, granting veteran players extra in-game currency to kickstart their collection.

Beyblade X: Evobattle – Switch 2 Edition launches Thursday, 18th December 2025.
