Pre-Orders Open for the SN Operator: The Ultimate SNES Accessory for PC
Retro gaming fans, rejoice! Epilogue has officially opened pre-orders for its highly anticipated SN Operator, a device that promises to bridge the gap between your physical Super Nintendo collection and modern hardware.
Following the massive success of the GB Operator for Game Boy cartridges, the company is now tackling the 16-bit era. The SN Operator acts as a high-quality adapter that allows users to plug their original SNES and Super Famicom cartridges directly into a PC, Mac, Steam Deck, or even Android device.
What Does the SN Operator Do?
The SN Operator is more than just a cartridge slot. It integrates with Epilogue’s custom Operator app, offering a suite of features designed for both preservationists and casual players:
- Play on PC: Run your physical cartridges on your computer using high-quality emulation, with the software reading data directly from the cart.
- Save Management: Backup your precious save files from aging batteries to your computer, ensuring you never lose your progress in RPG classics like Chrono Trigger or EarthBound.
- Write Saves Back: You can upload save files from emulators back onto the original cartridge.
- Fake Cartridge Detection: The device can verify the authenticity of your games, helping collectors spot bootlegs.
Price and Release Date
The SN Operator is priced at $59.99. According to the announcement, the initial batch is a “Founder’s Edition” and is expected to ship in April 2026.
Super then. Super again. Meet SN Operator, our tribute to one of retro gaming’s greatest chapters.⁰
