More Switch Games Receive Compatibility Updates for Switch 2
Six months into the lifecycle of the Nintendo Switch 2, the library of backward-compatible titles continues to be refined. A new wave of updates has been rolled out to address specific issues with original Switch games running on the new hardware.
Leading the charge in this latest batch is Aspyr’s Star Wars: Republic Commando. Following a recent update, the tactical shooter is now listed as fully compatible on Nintendo’s official search page, resolving previous issues that hindered its performance on the Switch 2.
Kairosoft Simulation Titles Updated Fans of simulation games will be pleased to note that developer Kairosoft has updated several of its popular management sims. Pocket League Story and Mega Mall Story 2 are now “supported” on the Switch 2, joining other recently fixed titles from the studio.
Ongoing Fixes and Known Issues While many games are seeing improvements, Nintendo has identified new glitches in others. Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove is currently suffering from specific audio problems on the new system, though a fix is likely in the pipeline.
In related news, Warner Bros. released a significant patch earlier this week for Batman: Arkham Knight. This update improves stability, visuals, and performance for Switch 2 backward compatibility, while also delivering enhancements for the game on the original Switch hardware.
As developers continue to patch their back catalogs, the transition to the Switch 2 is becoming smoother for players with extensive digital libraries.
